What Jeremiah says about Unemployment

A few years ago, I was unemployed for 6 long months. I had a son just graduating high school and entering college, my daughter was 14, and my younger son was 9. My wife was very supportive, but as the months drew on, we all became more anxious. I found a Bible verse that gave me great comfort during that time, and I still have it as my life verse. it is:

“For I know the plans I have for you,”

declares the Lord,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

We serve a good God who cares about us and loves us. His words are true, and we can depend on the truth of the Bible.

During my period of unemployment, I read my Bible more than any other period of time in my life. There were lots of worse things that I could have done.
